Trustpair raised 20 million euros to accelerate international growth, and equip finance leaders with the tools needed to tackle sophisticated fraud tactics such as AI, deepfakes, cyber attacks, and more.
About the role
As we continue to scale and expand globally, we are seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to guide our growing engineering team into the next chapter of our journey.
This role comes at an exciting time: our current CTO and Co-Founder, who has been instrumental in building Trustpair’s robust technical foundation, will focus on broader strategic initiatives within the company, leaving you the autonomy to drive and grow our technical vision.
As CTO, you’ll play a key role in shaping Trustpair’s technological strategy, scaling our platforms, and driving innovation to maintain our market leadership. Heading up our engineering department (25 engineers today), you'll work hand-in-hand with our VP Product as well as other senior leaders on strategic topics.
What you'll do:
Technical Leadership
- Build and drive Trustpair's technical vision and strategy, from the technology used to processes and methodology
- Establish and maintain technical standards for the department
- Oversee architecture decisions for cross-team initiatives
- Own the technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with our business strategy and internationalization
- Collaborate closely with our Product team on feature delivery, ensuring a connection to our client and user needs
Team Leadership
- Foster a client-centric mindset within the team ensuring feature development is linked to client needs, impact and value
- Encourage teams to gain and share client insights which can provide value to our platform's development
- Implement and monitor SLIs/SLOs across teams
- Drive delivery speed and quality improvements
- Manage talent across the Engineering department, from management to individual contributors (from recruitment to career development)
Operational Excellence
- Optimize development processes ensuring excellence across code quality, architecture, security and performance
- Manage technical debt
- Ensure platform scalability and reliability, mitigating downtime risks or escalations
- Track and report on key metrics as part of strategic discussions with our ExCo

Must haves:
- 10+ years in engineering, including 5+ years in a leadership role
- Prior experience in scaling engineering teams in SaaS companies
- Strong technical background with architecture expertise (Ruby on Rails experience is a plus)
- Track record of successful project execution and delivery; projects are delivered on time and are prioritized in line with our strategic goals
- Experience implementing and driving engineering best practices
- Fluency in English (other languages are a plus)
Nice to haves:
- Prior experience in the fraud prevention or fintech space
- Experience in managing international and remote engineering teams
- Previous CTO experience in a scale-up
